Kool-Aid Man


Kool-Aid Man is the mascot for the drink mix known as Kool-Aid. However, he wasn't always Kool-Aid Man, instead being formerly known as Pitcherman. Like Optimus Prime, he sold himself out for a brand, battling a endless war against the alien race known as the Thirsties. He's forgotten who he was beyond a clueless mascot, and as he enters the war inside the Black Hole, he has to rely on things other than the brand he's tied to now in order to survive.


Kool-Aid Man is one of the more unique characters in the game, although very simple at the core. He has a chargable run that can deal major damage and break through most barriers set in stone given enough running distance, he has a decent recovery option, he can get drink mixes from his octopus magician pal to change the properties of his liquid spilling move that can inflict a variety of status effects and change how he plays. When Kool-Aid Man is hit, he bounces off surfaces for a short time, giving him very strange knockback mechanics. He bounces faster when he takes more knockback. This knockback mechanic is based off the Atari 2600 game Kool-Aid Man.

Moveset
Great Bluedini
The Great Bluedini, a blue octopus magician, appears, spins around, and gives Kool-Aid Man a random flavor packet. The player can choose to not pick up the packet, which will explode into dust that causes the break condition onto opponents if they touch it instead. Oh Yeah!
Kool-Aid Man begins running, saying "Oh Yeah!" up to three times over the course of three seconds. Each "Oh Yeah!" increases his power and speed. When he collides into a opponent, he deals 6-34 damage on impact with varying levels of knockback.
Sharkleberry Fin
Kool-Aid Man rides on the back of a giant pink shark with sunglasses known as Sharkleberry Fin. Sharkleberry Fin rises into the air with pink water underneath him, which can splash opponents and deals 5 damage and soaks them. Sharkleberry Fin himself deals 10 damage. Can be used as a third jump, renders Kool-Aid Man helpless after the animation ends. Powerful Pitcherman
Kool-Aid Man unleashes the mixture inside him onto his opponent. A full list of what flavor packets do to this attack can be found below, but it normally deals 6 damage and causes the wet effect. When performing this move, Kool-Aid Man can collect Sophie's Elixir and Mixing Lab Serums, taking on the effects of those mixtures instead of random ones by Bluedini. He can also collect the Villager's Water and Lava. Each mixture loaded in has three uses before it reverts back to Kool-Aid Man's usual red.
Drunken Rushdown

Kool-Aid Man lunges forward with both of his hands, grabbing the opponent by the neck and unleashing a three hit beatdown that deals 11 damage. Leads directly into a quick dizzy state for Kool-Aid Man afterwards. Kool-Aid Man runs during the start up animation, allowing it to act as a quick way to move across the stage as well. Kool-Aid Man swings his arms around while moving forward and can ascend upwards while in the air, making this effective for recovery, even if the vertical height gained is actually fairly minimal. Deals 6 damage on start up and 5 damage on loop when spinning. If it is interrupted by attacks, Kool-Aid Man gets dizzy when it becomes cancelled.
Astronaut Kool-Aid Man

Kool-Aid Man gains an astronaut suit and floats upwards for a second before popping back into his normal self and belching. The player gets a total of 0.5 seconds of Kool-Aid Man floating in any direction they tilt the control stick. The belch at the end contains a hidden hitbox that deals 19 damage and large knockback. If this connects, Kool-Aid Man becomes both helpless and dizzy afterwards.

This move has a couple of other interesting properties:

  • Kool-Aid Man will be immune to both fire and ice attacks while in the suit but any other element will deal doubled damage to him.
  • The belch gives Kool-Aid Man superarmor while performing it.
  • If hit by another Inanimate Carbon Rod from Homer or another Kool-Aid Man while an Astronaut, Kool-Aid Man will just fling it right back.
Powerful Pitcherman

Kool-Aid Man unleashes the mixture inside him onto his opponent. When in Beer Riot Mode, Kool-Aid Man gains Beer Riot Homer's moveset along with the same disadvantages and advantages. Kool-Aid Man's speed becomes slightly increased but his knockback and damage taken increases. Additionally, Kool-Aid Man has a dizzy period after many of his more powerful attacks that makes him open to be punished. His finishers are not altered, however.

To get rid of the Beer Riot status, Kool-Aid Man must dump the Beer inside him via Powerful Pitcherman, which will deal 6 damage to opponents. He must do this three times to revert back to his normal red color.

Failed Mix makes Powerful Pitcherman deal 15 damage flat with no knockback.

Perfect Serum imbues Powerful Pitcherman with the Heaven Spell effect on normal opponents and cures those under the Makai Spell effect. It deals 10 damage. Burning Serum imbues Powerful Pitcherman with the burn effect in addition to dealing 6 damage.

Toxic Serum imbues Powerful Pitcherman with the Poison effect in addition to dealing 6 damage. Identical to Mad Jurple Mix. Negative Serum imbues Powerful Pitcherman with a reflecting effect that causes all projectiles to bounce off the opponent and 6 damage. Milk imbues Powerful Pitcherman with an attack that creates a block of cheese that can be used as a platform and barrier. It is solid, has edges, and cannot be jumped through. Deals 24 damage to opponents who get hit by the platform when it forms. Swamp Serum imbues Powerful Pitcherman with the Toad effect in addition to dealing 6 damage. Stony Serum imbues Powerful Pitcherman with the petrification effect in addition to dealing 6 damage.

Powerful Pitcherman releases a stream of lava which flows in both directions across the ground for 3 seconds before disappearing. It can make opponents burn and impede their movement as they fight against the current. Deals 5 damage per second. Powerful Pitcherman releases a stream of water which flows in both directions across the ground for 3 seconds before disappearing. It can make opponents wet and impede their movement as they fight against the current. Deals no damage. Kool-Aid Man takes 3 damage each second he holds Coca-Cola but doubles his speed. Deals 6 damage when dumped via Powerful Pitcherman. Kool-Aid Man has reversed controls while holding Beer but accesses Homer's drunk moveset when holding Beer except for Powerful Pitcherman, which remains his down special. Deals 6 damage when dumped. Orange Juice imbues Powerful Pitcherman with the Orange Scented effect in addition to dealing 6 damage.

Level 1
Kool-Aid Man unleashes a torrent of red and blue Kool-Aid in a spiraling, coiling liquid beam that blasts opponents in continuous motion, pushing them off the stage while dealing 1-2 damage every 30 frames for about 6 seconds.
Incrediberry
Level 2
Kool-Aid Man joins up with Incrediberry, who infuses him with enhanced speed, strength, and pitcher power. Powerful Pitcherman deals doubled damage where applicable and Kool-Aid Man can pour it 6 times as opposed to just 3 times. This lasts for 15 seconds.
Healing Tear
Level 3
Kool-Aid Man unleashes a healing tear that heals him or a team mate completely and gives them a new stock, although only if they have previously lost one. This can only be done once a match.

Play as Sophia or Princess Bubblegum a total of 50 times combined.
